Inactivity
Last Updated:March 27, 2026Inactivity Policy
Policy regarding inactive accounts, username squatting, and bot prevention.
1. Introduction
At Skriptjobs, we aim to provide a high-quality, professional environment for both talent and employers. To ensure our platform remains efficient, secure, and fair, we have established this Inactivity Policy to manage dormant or fraudulent accounts.
2. Username Squatting
We prohibit the practice of "username squatting," where accounts are registered primarily to prevent others from using a specific name or with the intent to sell the name for profit.
- Account names may not be inactively held for future use.
- Attempts to sell, buy, or solicit payment in exchange for account names are strictly prohibited.
- Inactive accounts may be renamed or removed at our discretion to free up names for active members.
3. Bot and Fake Accounts
Skriptjobs has zero tolerance for automated account creation or fraudulent profiles.
- Accounts created by automated scripts (bots) will be permanently suspended immediately upon detection.
- Profiles containing fake, misleading, or plagiarized professional information are subject to removal.
- We use advanced security measures to detect and block mass account creation attempts.
4. Definition of Inactivity
We generally consider an account to be inactive if it meets the following criteria:
- The account has not been logged into for a period of 12 consecutive months.
- The account was created but never utilized (no profile data added, no jobs posted, no applications sent) for more than 90 days.
- Waitlist or temporary accounts that were never finalized after initial registration.
5. Actions on Inactive Accounts
If an account is determined to be inactive according to our criteria, we may take the following actions:
- Renaming: The username or profile ID may be changed to a generic variant, making the original name available.
- Deletion: The account and all associated data may be permanently removed from our systems.
- Notification: Where possible, we will attempt to notify the user via their registered email before taking final action.
6. Requesting a Specific Name
If you wish to use a username or company name that is currently held by an inactive account, you may submit a request.
- Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Proof of identity or trademark ownership may be required.
- Our staff has no obligation to release any specific name upon request.
To request a name, please contact legal@skriptjobs.com.
